Medtronic

Work Description:

At Medtronic, I supported the design and testing of a transfemoral mitral heart valve delivery catheter. I specifically focused on all of the injection molded components of the catheter; however, I also worked on other sub-systems in cases of critical component interactions. These parts were the external physician facing components used to control the steering of the catheter as it entered the heart. To characterize component designs, I performed structural simulations, designed & executed test plans, prototyped test fixtures, and provided design recommendations in cases where failures were observed. To achieve robust component design, I collaborated closely with molding suppliers, the manufacturing team, and quality team and ensured that all stakeholders were informed and considered during critical decisions.
