Jacob Key
R&D Engineer
Finite Element Models
Organization:
Duke University and East Carolina University
Project Description:
In my academic career, I have designed multiple finite element models for various projects. One research project was conducted on studying the effect of collateral vasculature on the hemodynamics of blood flow out of a coronary artery bypass graft. Another project for my fluids class at Duke evaluated a variable height flow chamber to look at the adherence of cells in response to fluid flow.
What I Learned:
Through these projects, I have become comfortable with FEA software, primarily COMSOL. I have also performed simulations in Ansys and Solidworks.
